We’ve got a little secret... 🚣🏻♂️🚣🏻♂️🚣🏻♂️
You can access #LintonLake through an existing portage from Crowley Lake and there’s some pretty spectacular views, but shhh let’s keep it our little secret🤫
The Volunteer Team at Kivi Park would like to thank our Volunteer Park Leader, Melissa Sheridan for her deepest dedication and incredible commitment to the park. Melissa was an integral member from the very beginning in helping to build the park since it’s inception, she helped develop the volunteer team, hosted countless events and created lasting memories and experiences for the community and beyond. We want to thank her for her time and dedication and wish her the best of luck from the bottom of our hearts as she takes on a new position in the philanthropic sector! We still can’t get over the amazing turnout for the @xterraplanet Conquer the Crater event presented by @adventure365_ski.bike.run that took place over the long weekend at Kivi Park and raised $70,000. With over 700 participants, friends, families, vendors, volunteers, and supporters at the park, we are amazed by the support our community continues to show.
It was an amazing weekend filled with tough competition and memorable experiences for all of those involved. Congratulations again to the men and women who earned their way to a spot in the XTERRA World Championships in Maui, Hawaii, as well as to all of those who completed the course. These feats of athletic ability are world-class and we are so honoured to be able to host them in Sudbury and at @kivipark .
We’re thrilled for @ncfsudbury @milesagainstcancer fund to receive all the monies raised from this spectacular event!
Special thanks to Active Feet if Sudbury for some of the photos!
Our long weekend was jam-packed with excitement as inaugural @xterraplanet #ConquertheCrater presented by @adventure365_ski.bike.run took over @kivipark with 200 participants and 600+ people coming for races, music, and family-friendly fun!
10 of the racers who competed managed to earn their way to a spot in the XTERRA World Championships taking place in Maui, Hawaii this fall, while many others walked away with personal records, medals, prizes and a memorable experience. On top of all of that, all the funds raised from the event will go to @ncfsudbury and @milesagainstcancer which will support pediatric patient care, equipment and research at the Northeastern Cancer Centre. Congratulations to Tracy Hayes and John MacDonald, hosts of the event, who worked so hard to make their vision a complete success!
Thank you to everyone who came out and participated, all sponsors, supporters, volunteers and the organizers for putting on such a fantastic event. Check out the Sudbury.com article for more photos and details.
